Brazilian Mounjaro – Traditional Wellness Drink

  • Author: Carla
  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

A traditional Brazilian wellness drink that combines warming ginger, Ceylon cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, and raw honey to create a powerful metabolism-boosting beverage. This ancient recipe has been passed down through generations for its digestive benefits and natural energy support.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 inches fresh ginger root (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon powder (or 1 cinnamon stick)
  • 2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar (with “the mother”)
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ginger Peel the fresh ginger root and slice into thin pieces. If using ground ginger instead, measure 1 teaspoon and set aside.
  2. Create the Ginger Base In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of filtered water to a gentle boil. Add the sliced ginger and cinnamon stick (if using fresh). Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the water turns golden and becomes aromatic.
  3. Strain the Liquid Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the liquid through a fine-mesh strainer to remove ginger pieces and cinnamon stick. Let the liquid cool for 2-3 minutes until warm but not scalding.
  4. Add Final Ingredients Stir in the apple cider vinegar, honey, and ground cinnamon (if using powder instead of stick). Add lemon juice and cayenne pepper if desired. Mix well until honey is completely dissolved.
  5. Serve and Enjoy Pour into mugs and serve immediately while warm. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice level as needed. Can be stored in refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated as needed.

Notes

  • Start with smaller amounts if new to ginger – it can be quite potent
  • Pregnant women should limit ginger to no more than 1 gram per day
  • Those on blood thinners should consult healthcare provider before regular consumption
  • Best consumed 20-30 minutes before meals for optimal digestive benefits
